Q & A

Fun Fact!

Pink is my favorite color forever and always. My earliest design memory is knowing and gravitating towards that color. Example: I broke my arm when I was 1 year old, and I picked my pink cast.

My Design Aesthetic!

My design aesthetic is very colorful. I like organic shapes and types. I like to use color to set the tone of the design. Overall, I love playful, floral, fun, travel, bright, feminine vibes.

What I am excited to learn in GRDS 256

I am interested in learning more on the UX/UI topic and about coding—I truly had no gauge of anything regarding this subject matter. I think it's important to be familiar with it, even though I have a suspicion that this vector of graphic design will be something I won’t build much interest in (compared to other areas).

What objects inspire your aesthetic?
I love to read, so I am drawn to colorful book covers. I like it when objects that would be plain/neutral colored normally become vibrant. For example, I personally love colorful cups, blankets, throw pillows, stationary, etc
How do you define “Interaction Design”?
Interaction Design is how easily or hard a design is to navigate and familiarize oneself with. It is the connection between the user and the thing.
What does “UX and UI” mean to you (if anything)?
In my opinion, UX is a user’s journey during UI. A user’s interaction is how easily they can see where they need to go and what to click on. The user’s experience is how they felt when interacting with the design.
What are the differences between designing for say, a print product, and a digital product?
A print product is a manual, physical item. Take a dictionary for example. When you want to find something/interact with the design in order to learn the definition of a word, you have to physically flip through pages yourself. Designing a digital product is a 2D experience, yet it allows you to build limitless connections, hyperlinks, and pages so that the user doesn’t have to exert much physical or tactile energy.
When was the last time you saw digital design in the world that surprised you?
I am going to be very transparent; I sat in silence trying to think of something extraordinary that I’ve seen related to digital design. I cannot think of anything at all.
